Thanks for pointing out that it may be accomplished without building your own website to refer products you have an affiliate relationship with. I have found affiliated marketing great in the bast and have earned a bit from it.
But what I have recently done is started selling PLR ebooks off my own site.
While I do sell them fairly cheaply I get to keep all the money
What ever you do however to key is traffic
Get that and the rest is easy

the secret to affiliate marketing is always targeted traffic from developed countries like us, uk and canada. affiliate marketing would not give you a good income if you try it on asian internet traffic.

Wow…the world really has changed and I didn’t even see it. New rules. I’m currently working my ass off to get a college degree in engineering. I love engineering, but I don’t want to purely live a life of working in an office for someone with no control of how I use my time. Its a scary shock for someone who had to give up artistic dreams to settle into getting a “real” career. A bit of a stab to my pride. I’m going to keep doing engineering, but I’m going to check this out further and hopefully learn something.

this seems sceptical.. i don’t want to spend $97.00!! because it says after the first month, to become a fully activated member, i would have to pay $97.00 USD! I wish I have the amount, but right now I am tight on my money at the moment because I have not been working for 2 months and school tuition is driving me nuts.
So hopefully someone can assure me about this… because my friend’s friend, bryan, actually does this stuff and he works at home all of the time and he owns a 550k condo in the heart of downtown in Toronto. He just simply told me he does affiliating marketing. I don’t know what it means exactly, but so far from his living lifestyle at the moment, it is looking NICE.

Hey Wendy, The same guys actually have a free version of their tutorials as well. They are not as good as the paid membership site, but if you have no money, they are a great place to start.

Oke guys, I know every one is very sceptical about all these things, but you need to know the right thing to do. I see a lot of people saying like :’I had 3.000 views on my website and didn’t earn a thing’ That is because your playing it wrong.. unless you have a super successful site, you won’t earn much from it.But next to the fact that you can earn money that way, you can also earn money by people just clicking on your link! That’s no joke.Ofcourse you now ask me, how?! Well.. you just have to follow a guide.I know it sounds dumb etc, but that’s how it is. Just like all the other regular day jobs you have to learn it first. Just like college, it’s not free. But in the end, you do earn money, ( after 1 – 2 years ) a lot of money.I now earn $200,- per month.. I know it’s not much, but at least I’m honest… there are a lot of people saying like: ‘omg, I’m making 5.000 dollar a day!’ personally.. I don’t believe it.I invested ( like you have to do for everything to reach something [ think of school, a shop etc ] ) $147,- for a guide.. which I now know is good..I had to work a month to get out of the costs.. not really a bad deal.I promise you guys, it’s really easy, the money making. Just invest some money and learn it. I would have taught you it, but since I don’t have time to write a whole guide. I’m not going to. But some people did make guides for this, since it’s new. ( I mean.. how long exists the biggest market [ internet ] ? )The website looks a bit chaotic but just work your way trough their offer.Hope it will work out and I will someday earn more then $200,- per month xD, lol
I am very frustrated. Sorry but I find it hard to believe anyone (as mentioned above) makes $5,000 a week doing this. I have been working like crazy. Full time for the last 6 month and have got next to nothing. Not even enough for a check. At one point my site reached 4,000 hits in a day and I didn’t make a dime. I also have over a 1,000 links out there and nothing! Take this as a warning for those who think they can get rich quick. I’m sure there is money to be made, and I love what I do. So I’m not stopping now. But this “affiliate thing” is allot harder than it sounds. – By the way….any tips?

I suppose i’m one of those that are looking some extra $$$. I don’t know how to get started to do the online “thing”, better yet I have little to no money for which to get started into………anything.
I am hoping to find something…steady, legit, and non-wallet draining.
Of all the ways to make money you’ve listed, I personally think that affiliate marketing is the easiest to get started with. Surveys and MLM are a little to risky and there are lots of scam sites that promote those two.
I am currently pursuing affiliate marketing and google adsense. I make a few dollars here and there but not enough to quit my day job just yet.

Very nice article. I have set a goal to be earning a 1000 a month in 6 months. My niche is the health and fitness industry. I’m in the process of narrowing my target market to a super specific niche. My second goal is to quit my day job in one year. I will not stop until these goals are met.

yep, I do a lot more than just affiliate marketing now, but it was the first step I took. The income started out a bit up and down, some weeks were great, some you make nothing, but after a while I started making money consistently and after about 6 months of making a steady income I decided to quit my job and work full time on my affiliate business.
The income varies a fair bit, its just the nature of the business that some offers you run work for a while then stop working, so you are always testing new products and ideas. Some months I can average up to 5k a week, while others it can be a lot less. But overall the last few years I have averaged 100k+ per year in profits.

Depends what you want to promote, I know there are some training type manuals for pets on Clickbank, and also some retail pet products on Commission Junction. I have also seen a few pet accessories sites who run their own affiliate programs, its just a matter of finding them. try a search on pets + affiliate program
