Nice post. For those who don’t really want to mess with the marketing aspect, there are numerous publishers online (lulu.com, etc.) who will sell your ebooks on demand. Granted, the cash flow is much less, but so is the hassle.

Great info. With the level of sales of e-book readers this past holdiay season you can see that this is a huge and growing trend. I have an e-reader and have loaded tons of books on it on such subjects as Marketing, Business planning, Fund Raising, Cooking, Weight Loss, and even some fiction… it goes with me everywhere, and I am much more likely to purchase an e-book than run to the bookstore because it is so easy! You can download anything that is in PDF version…..very easy to create! Good luck to anyone who tries this!

I have written some ebooks, although not in the MMO niche. It all depends on the value of the content, Can people read your ebook and get some value out of it? Can they use it to solve a problem? make some money? or something else?

What product for a sales or squeeze page (once an eBook is written) do you recommend for use? Should it be hosted with a blog or on its own site (domain)?

Also, have you written any eBooks? I have written 14 of them for the Make Money Online niche. Now my biggest issue is marketing and promotion of some solid content.

Wish I could hand that off to someone else who can “take that from here” so my focus can be on writing even more eBooks versus also marketing. Having to market myself is very time consuming, regardless of how much I’ve automated.

Such a strategic partnership would be a total win-win – here is my eBook – take it from here. I have a 55% commissions incentive program for my affiliates to do just that – I make only 45% – yet the effort to sign up probably alone dissuades people nonetheless, and it seems to be a 1% of the 1% that opt in – frustrating.

The idea of writing my own e-books and selling them online
has always intreagued me to know end due to the fact that
there is no real publishing involed except posting it
online within a point of sale type of website.

I have found e-book compilers on the web to make these books
but I am still learning about the point of sale website
model and how to effectively manage one.

I still need to learn more about the subject.

It does seem to be a good idea though.

I am a struggling inventor who just recently learned within
the past few years that I have a higher degree of formal
education and industrial experience than Edison possessed.

After 15 years of strugging as a Drafter and Machinist.

One might say this was a turning point in my career.

But start-up capital is needed to setup my own shop.
And this sort of thing just might be the ticket.

And for ideas, its best to find out what people are looking for, I think the best way to do this is by using free keyword research tools available online to see what people are searching for, and how many people are searching for, and then find a way to fill their need.
