Adbrite is the ppc program that is second to adsense, i like adbrite*..
Been using adsense on my site. But so far, it is not making any headway for me in terms of its make money, earn money, or even save money potential. I guess, traffic is the problem. hehehe
Adsense is the best paying contextual advertising out there but there are also some other good paying ad programs like Infolinks and Adbrite.

I use Google Adsense as one of MANY ways to make money – buy you gotta wonder though…does Google Adsense really promote quality websites in the blogosphere…or a bunch of simple junk sites that are put up my the thousands of thousands for volume clicks…I think Google tolerates it due to the revenue but I also think the Adsense has reduced quality content by a considerable percentage. BTW thanks for having at least a good amount of content with your site – it strikes that healthy balance of content and Adsense use. Way to set the example.

I’d have to agree, but in the end people will do whatever makes them money. Google IMO force webmasters into doing a lot of “bad” things that don’t help the internet as a whole. ie the only way to get traffic to your site is to get lots of links. It doesnt matter how good your content is if nobody knows about it. 99% of the time the cream does NOT rise to the top without a great deal of self promotion.
So webmasters are forced to flood the internet with anything they can to get links, cheap crappy articles, baseless press releases, link farms, etc etc. None of it holds any value, but its pretty much the only way (other than pure luck) to get your site to rank well.
I for one would much rather spend my time giving value. But google doesn’t reward that as much.
I set up AdSense after putting up a couple of blog posts and finding a WordPress template that I was pretty happy with. Honestly, that was the hardest part, finding a template that I liked. You can do a Google search on “free WordPress templates with AdSense” to find ones that have spaces specifically for the ads. It is also worth noting that you can’t put AdSense ads on a free WordPress site, you can only do them on the ones that you have paid for the domain.

I read wikipedia and found out that AdSense discontinued in October 2008? Is it true? If it is, shall i still sign up for it? Do you guys still earn money from this?

Definitely not true as you can see the adsense ads on this page…
I recently added an Adsense square ads on my travel blog. my adsense earning is still low since i dont have large volume of internet traffic yet.

I don’t know why, these days, cost per click of all type of my adsense ads are very low. Around $0.05 per click. I have around 10 visitors per day, and some of the clicks are $0.03. Weird. It was more than $0.15 before.
I have to agree that the Google Adsense program is a very great and legitimate way to be able to make money online! It’s one of the few ways that people can get started to make money online without having to spend any money!
I have been in the Adsense program for over 2 years now and in my 2nd month of being with the program I got my first check! THAT felt great! Ever since I have been getting paid monthly from the Adsense program. Even though I am not an Adsense Millionaire yet there are some who have made at least a million dollars using this program!

Great article. One thing to always keep in mind when putting adsense on your site is to keep a close eye on your stats. You can do this through google analytics or install a custom program to keep track of where your traffic came from etc. This will also help you better optimise your site for potential keywords.

You can start with a free blog at blogger.com or wordpress.com, of if you want to do it properly, I would buy a domain through GoDaddy.com and setup a hosting account with hostgator. Thats who I use.
